The postpartum adjustment into Motherhood & Fatherhood is a major life transition, whether this is your first baby or your tenth.  The transition is made easier when you are surrounded by people, usually women who have had children themselves, who understand the changes you are adjusting to and can help you after the birth. As your Postpartum Doula, a woman experienced in attending to the needs of the postpartum mom, I can help you during your transition.
As your Doula, I do not just tend to the baby's needs, but rather I want to assist you to be able to take care of your own newborn. The family as a unit is supported during this time, each according to its own needs. It is my desire to help you trust your instincts in meeting your baby's needs - to hear your own heart. You build confidence as a parent as we work together during this time.
Nursing moms need to be able to turn to others who have breastfed their own babies successfully and joyfully, and who can provide information on different situations that may arise. Unfortunately, our own mothers and extended family members are not always available to help, and even if they are available, they may not have the breastfeeding experience to support a new nursing mother. By giving you proper breastfeeding support, I can help you overcome simple breastfeeding problems, greatly increasing your chances of having a successful breastfeeding relationship with your new baby.
After the baby arrives, you, your baby, and your family can enjoy the personal attention to your unique needs with a Postpartum Doula.
