Local Midwifery Services
Midwives provide a variety of services to women
and their families. Not only is
pregnancy & birth usually their main focus, but many also provide regular
well-woman care – yearly exams, pap-smears, birth control counseling, etc. Contact each midwife to understand her scope
of practice as well as to verify her training, experience and most importantly,
to find the perfect *fit* for you.
A great page to start your research on the
different types of midwives as well as the differing types of practices and
services offered can be found here on the Citizens for Midwifery page.
Here, I have listed for you some places to start
if you’re looking for homebirth, a
birth center birth, or a hospital midwifery birth.
